Bath: Day 9

Hanging out and enjoying the sun at the Knightshayes Court.

HELLOOO!

Well, today does not really boast too much I'm afraid. We left Coverack at 9 a.m. this morning and had about a 3 hour drive to Knightshayes Court. It was commissioned by the lace millionaire, Sir John Heathcoat-Amory who was the grandson of the mill's founder, John Heathcoat. It's an absolutely mammoth home in the Victorian style set on a seemingly-endless expanse of land. It actually resembles a church. Reminded me of the awesome house we toured in South Carolina. Except this one was not quite as large as that, but the opulence was definitely still present. The gardens were gorgeous and well maintained. I even saved a little dragonfly there...I'm always saving bugs and things. There were a ton of the little pretty blue dragonflies zipping about the pond and I noticed one that was stuck in the water. I wasn't sure what was wrong but I took him out and gently placed him in safety.

We grabbed some lunch here, but I must admit...it was pretty mediocre. Prices were ridiculous and the food wasn't very good. But the scenery and history made up for it. Afterward, we just hopped back on the bus for Bath and arrived shorly after 5 p.m., grabbed dinner at Beau Nash's pub for some fish & chips and headed back to the house to relax and do work.

Tomorrow starts week 2 of class which is so hard to believe. We are still awaiting our other roommate who was delayed for an "emergency wisdom teeth removal." Odd, I know. You usually schedule those, even "emergency" ones, a tad bit before a trip. So nobody really knows when she will be here since she is on medication for swelling and pain and cannot fly when she is taking that.

Off to catch some Z's!
XOXO
